Decorating Tip #8

Ready to Refresh your Decor?

As  we  live  out  our  lives,  we  manage  to collect  all  kinds  of  baskets,  pottery,
treasures, souvenirs and gifts.  These things make wonderful decorating accessories. Using them as such will also allow you to display your life's treasures in a polished way.

Start by gathering everything you have and want to use. Set them on a table, counter  space, or large floor area.  Group them according to subject, size and color.  Determine what can be used effectively and what cannot. We assume that most of your belongings will work fine, but you still need a few more. Or you may want a new focal point.  By adding a few new pieces and rearranging and  redefining your accessories, you can create a fresh look for a tired room. I'd also be delighted to help if you want some. Contact me at my_baskets@prodigy.net.

After you determine what goes together, go online to myShop at www.longaberger.com/kathydahm. Click around in all of the "shops" and see what Longaberger can do to tie your favorite belongings together. It may be new fabric styles, wall art, baskets, candles, candle holders, pottery, wrought iron pieces or American-made wood crafts. As you select new items, determine whether you want neutral items that can easily travel through your home (ready for your next refreshing day), or whether you want a room specific item (one that matches or accents your color palette). By selecting Longaberger items, you will be able to create a quality, personal expression of your lifestyle.

Be creative and bring a few items from other rooms that need a new environment. By adding or liberating items from where they have always been, you will soon enjoy the new looks you are creating without spending a great deal of money.

Plan to post your before and after pics on this blog. I know I need to get rid of many outdated decorating touches to modernize and refresh my rooms. I'm looking forward to making this my winter project. Refresh, you don't need to redecorate!
